Creating a Blog

Creating a blog was fairly straight forward. This system walks you through most of the steps.

7 1/2 Habits of Life Long Learning

I’m going to start with the easiest habit for me for the simple reason that it is the easiest, not to mention my favorite! Anyone who knows me could probably all ready guess that my answer is number 7 ½ - Play! I do love to play!! To quote, “The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.” Bonus points to anyone who can identify who said it. Playing can free your creativity and allow you to think outside of the box. Even more than playing myself, I love to use play to teach. Play is a wonderful non-assuming way to sneak lessons into life. I remember one of my student workers asking me how to search for something and I told them to remember how they did it when working on their bulletin board, just change the code you use. They started doing it, then spun around and said “Wait a minute, is that why you have us do those. Oh that is sneaky Jenny!”

The most difficult of these points for me is the first habit of goal setting. Let me start by saying, its not that I don’t understand the necessity or importance of goals. I understand why one must set an objective. Too often in my life, I have felt pressured to set goals that “I should do” rather than ones I want – ex: reading a certain book because you should. Not surprisingly, my commitment to achieving them waned as time went on and obstacles occurred. For me the more personal a goal is the more likely I am to achieve it.
